New House--Finishing the Interior

The drywall is up now, and last week I painted it with primer. It has become hard to photograph progress now that all the walls are up and painted uniformly white, but you can see the textured ceiling and the new ceiling fan here, and the drywall in the process of being primed.

This week's project is the subfloor, and, perhaps, the tile platform for the wood stove.

Must be really exciting! Besides the majesty of the cat Peanut, the other thing my blog photo shows is just how decrepit our house has become. Shiney new and cleanable would be nice.

I was leaning toward waterproof walls and floors, with a drain in every room so I could clean house with a garden hose, but that turned out to be impractical. I'm settling for linoleum in every room. And closets. We'll have closets. We probably won't know how to act.

Oh, closets. Those are places to store things, right? I have some vague notion of closets.

Congratulations. Wow, it's almost there!

Good morning, Rebecca. Hope things are well with you. I have a flower in my yard that I need to identify. How may I send a couple of pictures?

Reya, "almost there" keeps receding into the distance, but eventually we'll just move in there anyway.
