I've never sprouted onion seeds before, and I didn't expect them to be so curly and cute. I hope these will give us better success than we've had with onion sets here. The garden catalog called this variety "Walla Walla," and promised they'd do great things.

We've only grown onions (via sets) a couple of time. They just didn't seem worth the time and effort. Production wasn't good. And, the onions didn't seem superior to store bought. I mean, I'll devote and inordinate amount of time, effort and money to produce homegrown tomatoes, broccoli, cauliflower, etc. because they taste so much better, but if you cannot really tell the difference in taste, what's the point? That was our experience/decision anyway.
