Planting Peonies On the Vernal Equinox
I planted my new peonies yesterday. We had a lovely, warm spring day. I've never had success with store-bought peonies before, but I bought these two varieties at KMart anyway. (Triumph of Hope over Experience.)
I transplanted some hierloom peopnies one time and they did fine. But I think I did it in the fall rather than the spring. They don't bloom the first year, one way or the other.
Rebecca how wonderful to hear from you and how magical that you were reading the blogs' "true" name even though I had disguised it a bit. wow!
ReplyDeleteI see Splendor in the photo upper left on your blog, shining through the clouds so beautifully it makes you want to cry.
Did you see the comet?
I love peonies! May they flourish and thrive!

ReplyDeleteReya, I didn't see the comet--although I looked. We had cloud cover.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the good wishes on the peonies. When you buy plants from a big box store, they need all the blessings they can get!
Dave, I'm going to post my heirloom peonies soon.
